I assumed since the cold making part in the top and the temp sensor in the bottom part were separated by a small duct with maybe a fan, the temp variances or swings would be greater than my chest freezer. I don't intend on using a heat source so I was concerned about the temp stability.
Thank...
I found a good deal on a small fridge freezer unit I would like to ferment in. I have a Johnson temp controller I can use, but with the freezer on top providing the cooling for the fridge below I'm not sure how efficient it would work. Just wondering if anyone actually knows if the fridge...
US05 is my go to yeast and I ferment between 63-65F. I just have the tape thermometers on the bucket for temp, so I don't know how accurate they are. I don't use plsner very often though. 2row, white wheat, etc works for me. I have heard about the peachy falvors but have not had them (so far)
I used the same fan I used for my stir plates: https://www.amazon.com/Thermaltake-Adjustable-One-touch-Retractable-A1888/dp/B00080G0BK/ref=sr_1_3?crid=2998XUQMVNTUP I removed the cable from the retractable thing, works great.
Its funny I have had the same experiences as you. Laural was my go to for so long. McDs across the street was nice to grab a burger while my tanks were being filled. Same issues with Poist. I ended up going with Roberts in Westmisnter. I don't know how or why, but all their tanks are shiny and...
I don't seal the original bag, but I do use the pint bags for the food sealer and throw them in the freezer until needed. I pre-measure for different starters I think I might use. The DME is so fine it is like sealing soup, some of it comes out the top when vacuuming. I have to clean the sealer...
Thanks. I will let then soak over night and check. Was thinking of storing water in one and was wondering how that would turn out. I couldn't beat the price or lack thereof so a scoop of oxiclean is my only cost worse case.
Thanks again
Picked up a couple better bottles. Had a previous attempt at some unknown brew that has been aging for an undetermined amount of time, could be a couple of years. There was no mold or anything funky looking on the liquid, no sediment or scrapes. I have them soaking with oxiclean now. Just...
I was stationed in the UK and I was told that if your car inspection wasn't going well, leave a case of Bud in the back seat and you might pass. Not sure why they like it, but they do.
I created a beer-bacus to keep track of progress. The top weld in the keg is about 36 pints. My regular rotation takes about 2 weeks from grain to glass so I can tell when I need to brew. Since it is just me I brew between 2 to 3 weeks to keep things flowing.
