ISO: Sante Adairius Saison Bernice, FT: DFW Beers

Looking for a few bottles of Sante Adairius Saison Bernice. It is my grandmother's name and I've always wanted to try it. Not even sure if it's available right now. I have access to any DFW Brewery (including Celestial, Turning Point) and we also get limited distribution from some of the more...

    AB-Inbev's Next Acquisition

Ab Inbev looking to acquire Coca Cola. Not sure how feasible this is with the size of both companies, but would probably be a huge boost to the distribution and logistical network of both companies...

    Texas FREE simple wort chiller

I have a wort chiller that a friend gave me awhile back but I can no longer use it because I'm in an apartment now. About 15' of small diameter copper tubing, with a garden hose fitting on one end and just the cut copper tubing on the other. Could probably clamp some vinyl tubing or something...

Texas Food Cart - FREE (or just good beer karma); DFW

Moving in two weeks and I need to get rid of this. Willing to give away for free to a good home. It has no lid and is a little banged up, but works perfectly fine. I currently have it hooked up to a home-built temperature controller for fermentation. The lower section is about 1/8" away from...

    Beer Dinner Host Interactions

When you go to a nice beer dinner what do you expect in terms of interacting with the host? I'm presenting my third beer and food pairing at a friend's restaurant next week and I'm wondering if I should change up the presentation a bit. It's typically set up in a horseshoe shape and I...

    Difficulty of Finding SA Utopias

How hard is it to find Sam Adams Utopias? I came across a small liquor store near me that has a few of the 2015 versions. I picked up one as I am getting married soon and wanted to share one with my friends for the bachelor party. Is it worth picking up another to trade for other rarer...

    Homebrew Talk Book

I was thinking today ... what if there was a Homebrew Talk book? We could amass the best recipes (brewing, food, etc.), DIY projects, equipment, etc. related to homebrewing and beer. We have a wealth of knowledge on this site and it would be cool to see it used outside of these cyber walls!

Austin Homebrew Burner vs. Blichmann TopTier

Looking for a new burner online and came across these two at AHS: http://www.austinhomebrew.com/Blichmann-TopTier-Floor-Burner.html 72k BTU/hr burner with short stand, $150. http://www.austinhomebrew.com/Propane-Burner-with-18-Stand-220-000-BTU.html I don't see a brand on this one, so I...

    LaFayette Beer Scene

What is the beer and homebrewing scene like around LaFayette? I recently interviewed for a job down there and I'll know in a few weeks if I get an interview onsite down there. As a reference, I will be coming from the Dallas-Fort Worth area. Thanks!

Drink Local Beer & Support Local Students @ FireWheel Brewing

Is it infected? My apartment that is ...

I brewed my first large scale kettle soured Berliner Weiss last night and I'm worried that I infected my apartment. I mashed a few days ago and pitched the lacto with no problems. Last night, I transferred to my kettle for a 15 minute boil on my stove. After placing into the carboys and going...

    South Korean Beer

I went on a study abroad trip to Seoul, South Korea this summer and did a write-up for the Flying Saucer blog while I was there. It finally got published and I wanted to share! http://beerknews.com/is-there-craft-beer-in-south-korea/

Anybody else notice the 5 bbl fermenter in The Martian? I think it was supposed to be part of the water reclaimer, but definitely was a fermenter.

FT: Jester King, Yellow Rose ISO: Rare Barrel

Heading down to Austin tomorrow and should be able to grab some Jester King from the stores down there. Looks like Das Wunderkind and Noble King are the most recent non-brewery-exclusive beers to be released. I should also be able to find some Yellow Rose in Dallas locally. Any Rare Barrel...

How hard is it to trade for Rare Barrel?

I hear a lot about Rare Barrel and would love to try some. Since most people get their beers from the membership program, are they more guarded in trading them? What level of beers would you think it would take to get someone to trade one? I'm in Texas, so would Jester King be comparable?

    Can anyone identify this Stein?

My grandmother is moving into an assisted living center and we were going through some of the stuff she was going to sell or get rid of, and I came across this. My dad says it's from Switzerland and is probably close to 100 years old. Has anyone seen anything like this?

    Sour Logic

Did my first kettle souring loosely based on Brulosopher's semi recent article on Berliner Weiss. After boiling the soured wort, is it technically clean to use? I am a little weary to use my racking cane in fear of infecting future batches. Are these fears unfounded?
