3/16 beer line, 1/4 tail piece

I am trying to complete my first keezer build. I purchased 3/6" beer line from farmhouse and I am having trouble slipping it over my tail pieces. My line is the real rigid stuff. I tried the hot water trick and only cut my line and my finger.:( What is the best way to go about connecting...

    Advice needed / new kegger

Okay, so I was gifted a ball lock, co2 cylinder, regulator, and ball lock connectors. I've decided to complete the system and step into kegging, but I have limited knowledge where the best place to look for things are. The only thing I think I know is I'm going to get Perlick faucets...

New Coffin Keezer build under way - have ??

First some basic info. I'm building a keezer with a coffin box and full wood surround. I've started with a 5.1 c ft chest freezer, put it on casters, and built the surround with a 5" collar. It will be set up for 2 taps (1 ball lock, 1 sanke), and all the equipment contained in the keezer...

Dorm fridge or compact freezer for kegerator?

I'm getting ready to do a kegerator build and can't decide between a fridgidaire mini fridge or a compact chest freezer keezer. My concern with the fridge is temp control issues and frosting over. I have a magic chef mini that is simply not a reliable cooler...at least after the first year...

    Dilemma???

I've been contemplating going to a tap-a-draft system for the benefit of easy storage, convenience of using my main fridge, reduced bottling, and avoiding having yet another appliance taking up space. Yesterday a co-worker of mine tells me that he was cleaning out his basement and found a few...

I'm brewing a wheat today and blurring the style of Bavarian and American. Bittered and pitched like a Bavarian with Hallertau and Wyeast 3638, but late hopped with some Cascade. Fermenting @ 65*. Maybe I should go warmer and get more banana. Its either going to be a good interesting beer...

Question on Steeping Specialty Grains - not volume

I am working on my first recipe creation for an extract brew using light DME as a base plus steeping grains. I am concocting a variation of a brew that uses Carastan, Crystal 75, and Munich (not necessarily in that order) on the grain bill. My plan was to steep 1# Munich, .5#Crystal 75, and...

3 weeks in primary - unexpectedly cloudy

I've got a NB Irish Red sitting at 3 weeks in primary. I planned on bottling tomorrow so I pulled a sample for a gravity reading yesterday. It's at FG, smells good, taste is a bit milder than expected but I suspect that is do to it not being ready, but it is also very cloudy. More so than...
