    Picobrew Ebib controller

I'm looking to move back to something plain and simple. I don't like touch screens or fancy controllers, while this controller can be great for a lot of people, I find myself using my simple one that I built myself that just controls power to my element. This controller is 240, requires at least...

Buddy coming back from ft collins/ Denver area, what beers?

As the title said a friend of mine coming home for a visit and I was wondering if you all that live in that area could help me out. Are any of the cool sour/funky beers easy to snag or are they primarily at the pubs only. Not sure which ones do or do to distribute. Any local IPAs or Belgians...

How much for a 6 pack of dead guy?!?

I have always loved rouges style as a brewery, and enjoyed their beers. Until recently (6months ago) I couldn't get them near me. Since they have been in the local stores, it seems like they keep getting more expensive. $15 dollars for a 6 pack of dead guy seems outrageous to me. What are the...

Adding brett toward the end of my fermentation...

I bought a vial of white labs brett bruxellensis that is nearing the best buy date and I hate to see it go to waste. I plan to brew a belgian farmhouse ale that I have previously brewed using mangrove jack m27 belgian ale yeast. My question is when to add the brett, the m27 is a HIGHLY...

Could someone please hook me up with a can of heady?!?

I keep hearing so much about this beer and I would love to score a can somehow. If some kind- hearted soul out there would be so kind as to trade me one, I can get any of the beers from the ND list on seek a brew. Still can get hopslam, though I think most people that want it have already got...

    Quick disconnects for chiller?

My LEAST favorite part of my brew day is cleaning and storing my immersion chiller. From my water access to my drain is quite a ways so the hoses are fairly long and cumbersome. What types of fittings that mount directly to the chiller (right now I just have the tubing over the open ends...

How much of this is yeast? (Pic)

This is really my first time I have collected some yeast from my conical and I'm wondering if you can tell if this picture is all yeast, or trub. This may be a stupid question but I'm just not sure. I can't really see a line of differentiation. I opened the valve, let the trub dump, then beer...

What if I pitch two strains

I'm wondering what would happen if I pitched two different yeasts at the same time. For instance a Belgian and a cal ale yeast? Would it pick up properties of both, mutate, or one out compete the other and cause it to maybe drop out early?

    Ft hopslam 2014!

Just as the title says. Did this last year and got some cool stuff. I am looking for pliny, heady topper, other russian river beers, Jester king beers really anything that I can't get here in ND. Let me know what you have or have access to, and we can work something out!

    Fermentation temperatures :drunk:

So everything I have always thought that I read or listened to said ferment low, like around 65 or a bit above that. I know that belgians sometimes require a higher temp for some of the ester production, but even then most of the conventional wisdom said that If you went much higher than 72-74...

    Dry yeast 1pkg, or 2?

It has been a while since I have used dry yeast, and when I did I always used 1 satchel rehydrated. Now I see that some of the manufacturers are recommending two satchels. Also I see that a lot of them are saying to simply sprinkle the yeast in the wort. Are they just accounting for half the...

    RYe-P.A. question

I have never brewed a beer with rye but I have intentions of it very soon. I had sierra nevadas ruthless rye as well as some others, and I really like what the rye does to accentuate the fruity hop characteristics. I have heard that It can be a bit of a pain to work with as it gets doughy...

Will brett bring my under-attenuated beer down ?

Hey guys, Ive got a bit of a situation here. I have a batch of beer that I THINK is under attenuated, I was shooting for 1010 and its been a few weeks and its around 1018-19. When I started brewing under attenuation was my number one problem, and I HATE the sweetness left behind (if its a pale...

    Jester king brewing

Ok, so I'm in Denver at wallabys liquor and grabbing some beers to take home. Get to the bomber section and see a couple bottles with super cool, almost walking dead-esque labels. Grab one, look at it, farmhouse ipa. Cool. Love both styles. Grab it. Grab another saison. Do a little research...

    Best breweries downtown denver?

Ey guys, I'm going to be in Denver the 26th and 27th and will most likely be staying downtown. I know the co craft beer scene is pretty badass, but where specifically (downtown if possible) should I be sure to hit up. Also if anyone mnows of anything cool going on those days let me know as...

I know its been asked before, maybe not in this way. Dry vs liquid

Ordered some stuff from Austin home brew and long story short ended up with two frozen vials that didn't make it. THEY WERE NICE ENOUGH TO SEND ME REPLACEMENTS (dry this time) Tried a starter but no go. The one major pro of liquid is the number of available strains. It's not even close though I...

Any good beer shows or docs on netflix?

Have seen beer wars and thought it was really good. Wondered if anyone knew of any others. Also in a semi related matter has anyone seen brew dogs? If so where can you watch it and what did you think?

    Building a false bottom?

Hey guys, I am setting up a new ebiab system and im needing a way to keep the bag off the element. I am thinking a false bottom would be best, wondering what you all have done. Im thinking some sort of steel screen with bolts. Since it doesnt have to fit super tight like it would in a mash...
