Krispy is a strain of kveik from escarpment labs, lots of peole use it for lagers because of its clean crisp results at warmer temps

    Dextrose in primary

Well i increased my strike water since my last brew and saw a 15% increase in efficiency (i was usually slumming around 65%) but i may not have had a strong enough boil to get down to volume to get my target og. I'll try this recipe again when i need to get another IPA in my keg rotation

    Dextrose in primary

So i tried my hand at an ipa today and undershot my fg by 10 points, my guess is i didnt boil off enough. I added dextrose to my fermenter to make up those 10 points, will that cause an issue? Should i have waited for initial fermentation to slow down? I think i need to RDWHAHB haha

    Wort top up

So i brewed up a new batch yesterday, i usually just hang the bag and squeeze a but after mashing but this time i decided to try a pour over sparge in a separate bucket. After boil i checked my gravity reading and thought it was a bit low for my grain bill, so i went to the bucket that still had...

    Final batch size/abv.

Well I guess I should have measured my water rather than trusting the markings in my kettle. Oh well haha it looks like beer, and tastes like beer. Next round I will learn from my mistakes haha
  15. G

    Final batch size/abv.

Ya I will calculate as per volume collected, is there anything to do to bring the abv. Down or just roll with it?
  16. G

    Final batch size/abv.

So I just racked my first all grain brew to my bottling bucket and I found that my final volume was about 1.5 gallons less than expected. This might cause the abv. So be way higher than anticipated. Any priming issues I should be concerned with or just bottle as usual. 12 lbs of grain ended up...

Well I may have mixed up what I needed and added carapils to my list, I can leave it out and save it for my next batch. As far as style, I'm trying for an amber ale like one a brewery near me makes

    First brew ingredients

So I just picked up some ingredients for my first brew. 10lbs pale 2 row, 2lbs carapils, 3/4lbs crystal 60, and some cluster Hops as well as east Kent goldings. Just kinda modified a recipe I found based on what was available. Would this work out well? Anything to take out of there?
