    Indiana 8 Tap Tower

Let's call it $350 shipped to the lower 48. I've already got the money spent in my mind...

    Indiana 8 Tap Tower

Yes, I still have it. It's going to a restaurant auction later this month if it doesn't sell first.

Anybody interested for $350? ($300 without the faucets)

    Indiana 8 Tap Tower

I picked this up at a restaurant auction, then I decided to go with an upright keezer instead of a chest. It appears to never have been used, but it's not in perfect shape. The stainless is scratched up in a few places (see second photo below middle faucets). It does have the gasket for the...

Polypropylene carpet beater as brewing paddle?

Probably not much, really. (Shipping at least. I have no idea whatsoever about import costs.) But I was mostly responding to the idea that a long enough spoon can't be found. Sometimes you just need a different search term.

Polypropylene carpet beater as brewing paddle?

It would probably work. I use a stainless paddle instead. It's less than $20. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B002XYK55Q/?tag=skimlinks_replacement-20

What craft beer do you secretly despise?

Everything pumpkin tastes terrible to me, including beer. I also disliked the Kentucky Bourbon Barrel Ale I tried the other night. First time I've poured out a beer in a couple years.

How many beers do you drink a night?

Zero to three. Three only happens about once per month. More often than not, it's zero.

Just finished 50 time bombs, PLEASE HELP

The big flaw is that they may taste terrible. But they may not. I add way too much sugar to cider every year; it just happens to be maple syrup that I think tastes awesome. Once they are carbonated to your liking, you can pasteurize them in the bottle. Cider generally improves with some age...

    Official Broken Hydrometer Count

I had one slip from my hand when passing it to my BIL. It was for maple syrup. Does that count? 1186

fermentation chamber - freezer or fridge? frost-free? standing?

My full-size fridge fits 3 Ale Pails. Adding a STC-1000 was all I needed to do, as it sits in a room that stays warm enough. I wouldn't want to deal with lifting buckets in and out of a chest freezer. I am using an apartment size fridge as my kegerator right now, but it is too new for me to...

Funny things you've overheard about beer

Does she mention that formaldehyde occurs naturally in pears, bananas, potatoes, carrots, and a whole bunch of other food plants?

In Search Of A True Clean In Place System

I've heard that on HBT more times than I can count, and I can tell you that the food production industry thinks that is nonsense. We clean and sanitize SS with bleach solution daily. Restaurants and farms do, too. Highly concentrated chlorine may damage stainless steel, but it only takes...

    fermentation chamber in a fridge

The easiest is to put it in an area that is always warmer than you need inside. My fermentation fridge is in a room that stay 70 degrees in winter and warmer than that in the other seasons. Otherwise I think the normal suggestion is a small ceramic heater.

Cold crashing - Step by step vs. All at once

I replace the airlock with a rubber stopper (plug). It's made for the same size hole, and I think it cost around 30 cents.

Turkey fryer or stainless steel pot

30 quarts is 7.5 gallons. It's still really too small for full volume boils.

Cold crashing - Step by step vs. All at once

I just turn down the fridge temperature to 2 degrees (STC-1000 is in Celsius) and call it a day. Transfer to bottling bucket or keg after a couple days. It has worked great.
