    Kegged mead to early

Made mead 8 months ago, og 1.071. Kegged 2 days ago . Just tasted it, way too sweet. It did not finish. What are my options? I am considering putting it back in carboy, degassing, and adding yeast. Would rather just try that in the keg, but I've never heard of such thing.

    Yerba Mate kombucha

Hey All. I haven't heard much about Mate kombucha in a while, so I started a new thread. I just made a batch with raw mate and it may be my favorite taste. I used a LOT of tea, the color is quite dark but the flavor mellow and is very quaffable. Kind of earthy, a hard taste to describe, I...

    Flanders Red aging question

I have a Duchesse Du Bourgogne Clone with wyeast3763, I went from carboy to keg yesterday. (1 year from brew day.) Now that it has carbonation, will it still mature? In other words, I wish I left it in the glass for another 6 months, it's missing something..... Can I leave it at room temp...

    Recipe suggestions/ amarillo /simcoe, IPA

I have a ton of 2012 amarillo and simcoe I need to use up asap. I also have a bag of two row and wlp007. I want to make a budget batch, not willing to buy many more ingredients. Shoot me a link to a solid recipe if you know one. My first thoughts are keep it simple or single 5g batch 15#...

    carbonation gadget for growlers

I've read a few times on this forum that bottle conditioning in growlers isn't ideal, that they are not made to withstand the pressure. Not sure how this could be any safer. My OPINION is this is a ridiculously stupid product, If you can't finish a growler before it goes flat, you should get a...

    Abyss

Yay for Abyss '13! I haven't had the '13 from the bottle yet, vertical is in the works. It tastes great from the tap, just like '12 did last year. I'm a bit bummed about the price increase, but perhaps that is not universal. I cant detect any change in taste, only price. I'm curious if it is...

    bottle conditioning in aluminum bombers

I've been saving these up, with the thought that they would be great for mountain biking/camping/hiking.I like the metal bomber concept, lighter and safer. I am about to bottle condition my RIS in a few to see how it goes. I decided cider is a bad idea due to ph. (on a side note the Base Camp...

Has anyone made a good peach melomel?

I made a simple peach melomel with an abv of 9%ish. It's my first peachy concoction, with amazing local peaches I picked last summer. It's been at FG for over two months. I was anticipating something entirely different, it's very acidic. Tastes like hard lemonade and there isn't any 'peachyness'...
