When Do You Need A De-Humidifier For Your Keezer

I use damprid and have a fan in there to keep things moving. Still get some condensation but the damprid gets a lot of it. Good luck!

    RIMS Tube Valve Placement

I noticed that a great percent of people use a valve on the pump egress as their throttle for RIMS tube flow rate. Sabco uses a valve on the rims tube egress to throttle RIMS tube flow. I get the cons, explosions, etc. But I'm left wondering if there is a pro to having the valve upstream of...

    Hosehead Brewery

I should have been more specific. I already have the 18" brewers hardware RIMS tube. I found that grainger has a 7.75" 240V 1500W Low density heater. Was just wondering if anyone found a longer one that may provide a lower watt density. Thank you. I'll keep looking around. edit: just found...

    Hosehead Brewery

Hey folks, anyone using hosehead to control a RIMS tube? I cant find an element that is 220V and has low enough wattage so as to not scorch. Can you rewire the hosehead to run an element at 110v? Thank you.

The enclosure has a removable panel on the inside that you mount the parts to. It mounts to standoffs in the enclosure.

    What PID should I get?

Not to hijack the thread but I believe its kind of relevant- is the only difference between the td4 and ta4 manual mode? In my reading it seems that way. Therefore in a mash tun or HLT ta4 for cheaper may be a good option. Thank you. Jim

    More crap electronics

The price quoted in the previous post was with shipping included. Shipping to California, for me, makes that auber pid(2352) $55.08. I think that's the point augidoggy was trying to make. cheers. Jim

    Colorado Brewing System Controller

Here is something that could help get you on your way: http://www.ebay.com/itm/BEER-Brew-Kit-PBC-BREW-PACK-3-12-x-10-x-8-ENCLOSURE-300-X-250-X-200-12X10X8-/131397215329 Then check Auberins for the PID, I think the 2362 is about 50 bucks. All you need the PID is a sensor, some wire from your...

As acidrain mentions... You need to enter your quipment. I find the default boil off rate was too high. That will affect your calculations. Cheers, Jim

Am I nuts? Looking for a specific wiring diagram

No, the boil kettle is not electric at this time. I have natural gas so this is a hybrid setup. The reason for 110V in the RIMS tube is that is was my impression that the 5500W element run at 110V will give me super low wattage density and the least chance of not scorching the recirculated...

Am I nuts? Looking for a specific wiring diagram

Hey guys- I've been scouring the wiring diagrams in the P-J thread and don't see one that shows what I'm trying to do and its making me wonder if the way I'm planning my setup is out of the ordinary. I'm trying to control an HLT and a RIMS tube. Leave the boil kettle out of the process...

I got the 18" RIMS tube and the with solder flange for electric mount in my HLT. I was able use a step-bit to get the hole drilled and propane torch to mount the flange. This is a very easy job and the results look good. I've never done any soldering like this before with silver. I just took my...
