Maybe there are some Florida variety of hops, but the ones I used above have all died post 2nd year. They never came back for the third growth year. 2nd year growth started in January and I had full cones (minus lupulin-the most important part!!!) by May. These particular hops don't do so...
I know this is an old thread but what the heck. The reason I had an 8.5% abv was that I forgot to dilute the wort before pitching the yeast. In other words, I forgot to take a specific gravity reading post-boil and pre-fermentation. Whoops! Hopefully that can help out someone else. :rockin:
Does anyone know of a source that has stainless steel 1/2" ID (not OD) female quick disconnects on the barb side? It seems that every single source I have found only has 1/2" OD on the barb side.

I've been using miracle grow once per week (one big scoop in 2 gallons of water applied to each 30 gallon hop container) then switching to biobloom once I see Spurs (20 ml in 2 gallons of water added to each plant). Here are my second year plants. Just harvested from one last night:

I would love to put them in the ground but my soil is extremely sandy. Not sure how they will do. As for the aphids, I've been lucky. Every time I see aphids I also see lady bugs. I too had a centennial that appeared to **** the bed but has recently taken off. And yes....good luck to all...
