Hello! Do I need a washer on this thing? I just noticed that it didn't have one. I've also been using plumbers tape on the threads which is a no no.

And I've been using it like this for years. The plumbers tape helped without the washer. At least I now know where the SLOW leak was coming from LOL

Considering there's that a big hole right in the middle of that coupler nut that the stem passes through, it's surprising tape would help at all.
Yes, you need a flat crush washer, plastic or fiber, take your pick...

Cheers!

the last option is to get a threaded tank washer, but it will be a bit more expensive.
