How deep of a raised bed?

I bought a house early this year, and didn't really look at the soil too much. Well, I've got good ol' clay. So I'll be doing all my gardening in raised beds. I was thinking of using just 1 row of 2x10's. Will this be deep enough for my hops?

    First Allgrain day!

Not too many pictures, but this was my first allgrain brewday. Made a pretty standard hefeweizen. http://s1043.photobucket.com/albums/b438/rhsatterfield/Allgrain%20Brewing/

    First Allgrain

Tomorrow, I'm gonna be attempting my first allgrain brew. Just would like some feedback/double checking on my numbers. As this is my first run, I don't have any idea what my efficiency is gonna look like. I'm gonna be using 11lbs of grain. I'll be using 13qts of water to hit a ratio of around...

Outdoor Foreman Grill as heat source?

Here's my situation. I'll be in a third floor apartment when I move this weekend. Not supposed to use any propane on the porch. But George Foreman makes and outdoor electric grill. Does anyone think it would work for boiling everything in the allgrain process?

    Another successful day

My roomate and I finally got our wort chiller going, so we went ahead and brewed yesterday. Cranked out a Raspberry Chocolate Stout and a Blue Moon-ish Wit. Woke up today and the both were bubbling. I'd like to thank all the folks for posting advice here and there on this site, helped us improve...

    First Batch

So my roomate and I bottled our first batch last night. It yielded 44 bottles. We filled a shot glass with one, and it tasted like flat beer, so we're guessing we did something right!

    Quick Question

Hi folks. I'm gonna be attempting to make cider for the first time today, and have a question about using yeast in this recipe: https://www.homebrewtalk.com/f81/raspberry-apple-cider-63471/ Do I need to prep the yeast like the packet says, or can I just toss it in the carboy with the rest of...

    New Brewer in Baltimore

Hiya folks! Like a lot of folks, I've spent bits of time on and off considering and researching home brewing. For whatever reason I just never got started. A few years ago, I began reloading my own ammunition. This led to me having a "make it myself" attitude towards things, resulting in...
