    Yeast cake life span

    I have a batch of beer fermenting in a corny and plan to transfer to a secondary keg on a Thursday, then use the yeast cake for a brew on Saturday. If I leave the cake sealed in the keg for a couple days will it be useable? I will be be transferring the beer with a sealed transfer keg to keg.

    Corny primary yeast and trub

    If I use one of my kegs to do my primary, when I transfer to secondary can I just push all the yeast and trub out into a bucket until the beer runs clear. Then attach to the out on the receiving keg? Or do I have to shorten the dip tube?

    Keg stainless??

    I picked up 2 kegs this week to make keggle and hlt I know one is for sure stainless it's stamped 304 ss But I'm not sure about this one. Does anyone have one of these and know for sure if it's stainless or aluminium?

    Picked up 2 kegs for 40 bucks today one is stainless other is aluminum. Plan is to use one for hlt with herms coil and the other as boil kettle. I have a cooler mash tun that I'll use as the third vessel. this will be a slow build but this is a start. Time to cut this thing up and drill some holes

    Washing dry yeast

    If you were to wash dry yeast after primary. Could you make a starter from it before repitching? I know you aren't supposed to make a starter when pitching dry, so Im unsure about after washing. Cheers

    I've always done primary in a bucket, so I've never watched the yeast do their thing, but on my last brew day I used my carboy. After day 2 this is how it looked Then on the morning of day 4 this is what it looks like??? Is this normal?

    I am doing a 1 gallon test batch of beer and have never bottle primed before. Always keg my beer. I was wondering how much cane sugar I should put in a 1 litre bottle? And should I just put the granulated sugar in or mix with boiled water?
