    Water used?

    How important is it to know the water chemistry prior to using it? Will the differences of tap water vs bottled water make a huge difference in the beer taste and quality? If I use bottled water, what do I need to add to have the right chemistry? Sent from my iPad using Home Brew

    Metallic taste

    My pale ale has taken on a metallic taste of several weeks in the bottle. Is this the water? What else causes the taste?

    Dry hopping

    Are there any negative effects from dry hopping too long? The recipe I uses for an IPA said to dry hop 5-7 days but it will be more like 10-14 days when I bottle. Thoughts?

    Temp monitoring

    For fermenting in a glass carboy I have a "thermometer" attached to the carboy. It is one of those stick on strips which are nice for monitoring the wort temp. Has anyone tried these for a plastic bucket? Does it work as well as for glass? I would think it works but curious.

    Infection?

    Batch was put into fermenter last nite. The glitch? The stopper for the airlock fell in the carboy. It was sanitized but with as much as I handled it who knows. Thoughts? I know it's early yet.

    DME for bottling?

    I bottled my second batch tonite and the kit I bought had DME as the bottling sugar. Is this normal? I assume it is since it was in the kit just was curious. The brew is a wheat so didn't know if it needed a different type of sugar to bottle or not.

    Warm bottles?

    Ok so I ran my bottles thru a sanitizing cycle in the dishwasher and they are still warm. Will this affect the beer going into the bottles? It's no where near warm enough to kill the yeast. Thanks

    Tank 7

    Anyone have a recipe for a Tank 7 clone? I looking to do an extract recipe as I am not ready for all grain. I have searched and didn't find a clone but did find various other saison recipes. I figured this would be perfect time to make a saison and I really like Tank. Thanks for any input.

    Has anyone ever used a wine bottle to bottle beer? If so, how did you cap it? Can you use a cork? I am desperately looking for bottles for my second batch and just about this option. Not sure that it is feasible. Thoughts?

    Raspberry wheat

    I have my wheat in the fermenter and I am wondering about the best way to add the fruit. My local brew shop said add right to the primary using fresh fruit. I have read on here people have used frozen fruit. I am apt to using frozen since fresh will be quite expensive
