I'm not very familiar with the Mr Beer equipment but from what I've seen it doesn't look like it has an airlock, also you dont want too much headspace in your secondary. The less contact with oxygen the better. I'd suggest picking up a few 1 gallon growlers and throw some airlocks on them?

I pitched the yeast Sunday afternoon (Salfbrew S33) and came home from work today and the blow off is going nuts! I have about 9 or 10 brews under my belt but none of them have ever fermented this vigorously. Is it "normal" to have this much activity? Temperature is about 63.

Up to this point to sanitize my bottles I have been filling up my bottling bucket the whole way with iphodor and filling up each bottle, which is pretty much doubling my bottling time. I'm wondering if using iphodor with an avinator would cut down on that? I'm just worried about...
So I bottled my first extract brew today and got about three bottles into it and realized that I had less than what the kit said it would make (23 liters). Obviously I didn't add enough water after I transferred the wort into the primary, now it makes perfect sense why I had such a hard time...
