An easy way to share with others what you're currently brewing.

I'm a Homebrewer who likes to see how my beer is progressing. So I created http://BrewStat.us to allow others to as well. It currently has integrations with Tilt/Brewometer data, and BrewPi integration coming in the future.

Take a look, let me know what you think.

I get the following error when I try to use the link from the Brewometer Device setup screen.

This XML file does not appear to have any style information associated with it. The document tree is shown below.

Are you in the Brewometer iPhone/Android app? Or on the BrewStat.us website?

I love stuff like this. I am currently stumbling through my BrewPi set up, and I plan to by a Tilt within the next month or so. I will defiantly try and contribute as much as I can. I have two brews planed for the end of the month, Ill be sure to add them to this.

In BrewStat.us, what connects my Brewometer data to my particular brew?

I like how you've added details about the Brewometer data in the chart area. For example EST / ACTUAL OG, EST / CURRENT FG, ATTENUATION, CURRENT ABV. I also like how you've added the Estimated Starting/Final gravity line on the graph.

As a potential feature, I'd like to see the Brewometer's last activity date/time with maybe some indication if it has reported data in a certain amount of time. Here's an example of my google sheet that integrates the Brewometer data.

Also, how about an average temperature and gravity reading from the current date (today)? This would level out any spikes/drops during the day and give an average of the temp/gravity for that day. Again, my sheet show this, too.

By the way, the charting object looks oddly familiar to the one that Brewbit.com uses in their web ui. I have one of their devices and totally rely upon it. Too bad they aren't in business anymore...

EmDubeu, thanks for the suggestions. I just pushed out an update for exporting that data as well. I'm using a pretty well known js graphing component, but this is the first time I've heard of BrewBit. Reminds me of BrewPi, which I totally use for brewing, as you can see from my personal website: http://rainesworld.beer/

Brewbit was a kickstarter a few years back. They made several hundred devices, but for some unknown reason threw in the towel. They still support the web hosting of the data, but that's about it.

Keep up the good work with BrewStat. If you need beta help, let me know. My background is in the software field with product management and QA.

What other devices to you have feeding your graph on rainesworld.beer (two temp readings; Room and Ferm)?

Update: Just re-read your post.... you use brewpi...

Ahh gotcha, when you export from Beersmith, change the dropdown to BeerXML and give that a try. I'm working on supporting Beersmith XML in the future.

To those following along at home.. :)

You can now see when the Tilthydrometer last updated. Next release will have live loading of the chart. Many other changes have been implemented over the last few days.

Raine,

I was just looking at this site again and when I was checking out the 'share' functionality it occurred to me that the batch size was missing from the recipe section. All the recipe information is good, however if you don't know the batch size it won't really mean much to someone who wants to brew it for themselves. Was the purpose of showing the recipe to simply show the ingredients or something different, perhaps?

Yup, just to show off what's brewing. I'm working on the ability to edit the brew that you've uploaded, but I don't really think the site is about building recipes. I've got a couple things in progress and I'll get Batch Size added in.

Thanks for the feedback!

I agree with your direction not building a site to build recipes.

By the way, I like checking out the site every couple of days to see what little Easter eggs you've added.... What else is in stock for upcoming features? Maybe you could create a change log to this thread?

Keep up the good work.

type-o.....

I reset the archive status for your brews, let me know if that fixes the issue.
