I have the same SSR heatsink combo and you definitely need to change the setup. I cut an opening on the top of the enclosure for the heatsink to stick out into the air and still needed to add a small computer fan to keep it from getting too hot.

Brewhardware shipping to Canada is almost the same cost as the element itself.

I found a cheaper temperature display only a couple years ago on ebay but it was double the size of the PIDs and ate up a lot of space in my small panel. It is surprisingly difficult to find something basic, would it be an option to just source the cheapest PID from China?

I am interested in this for my next upgrade as well and have been thinking about a 2nd 1.5" TC fitting in the lid with a solid cap on it that can be removed for hop additions. Seems to me the simplest method although the cap and clamp will be too hot to touch with bare hands.

I never understand the people that stand doing nothing while the cashier scans and bags everything. Then when they get the total they start going through their purse trying to find a credit card. You will have to pay no matter what the total is, get your card ready ahead of time!
