Tired Hands Milkshake Clone - Feedback please!

Sorry guys I just realized I never commented... I think the grain bill/hop schedule was spot on. The mango turned out great, but the coconut not so much. I added way too much coconut.

    1-Gallon Brewers UNITE!

I'm curious how everyone goes about using yeast for small batches? I have been doing 2.5g batches, but still using an entire smack pack. Are there any adverse effects from doing this?

Trust me i thought the same thing before i drank it. I thought it was gimmicky. I went in expecting to hate it, but ended up being blown away.

I just tried brewing a milkshake IPA for the first time recently (with mango) . I used 6.5% lactose in my brain bill, and in my opinion it wasn't quite enough. I guess it also depends on what your definition of a milkshake IPA is. I've had the tired hands double mango milkshake, and it is by...

Interesting stuff. So it looks like brulosophy must have done something similar with 147°F and 161°F. http://brulosophy.com/2015/10/12/the-mash-high-vs-low-temperature-exbeeriment-results/

I'd recommend dropping the crystal. I've messed with a few grain combos, and I find that crystal gets in the way of letting the hops/"juice" shine. This is what I have settled on and am pretty happy with. Golden Promise 38.2% Pale Malt 2 row 38.2% Oats 18.3% Cara-pills 2.8% Acid Malt 2.4%

Feedback on my NE IPA recipe? This is for a 3 gallon batch. I didn't include dry hops in the screen shot (to be determined). Am I too heavy handed on the 5 min and whirlpool additions? I assume taht IBU estimate is extremely high?

So what is everyone's view on hopstand hops? Is there a certain temperature you add them at? I plan on adding a couple ounces at 190deg, and letting it sit for 30 minutes. Sidenote.. very cool experiment on hopstand hops...

Coconut Milk DIPA - I have clues, but need help

Thanks again for all the guidance.. Curious if you have ever had any tired hands milkshakes? I guess that is what I am comparing the homebrew to. TH milkshakes are NOT subtle in any way, the fruit, the lactose, hop bitternes etc.

Sure.. what kind of details are you looking for exactly though? If you are just looking for a good NE IPA base recipe, try this out. There is a group of homebrewers on facebook, and this is what most people work from. People have won awards with it...
