Belgian Beer - SUPER high wheat???

I have a bunch of wheat malt that has been stored in a vittle vault (At least 3 years old) and I'm hesitant to use it but don't want to throw it away. I want to use it to brew with, but keep the other ingredients to a minimum in the event that the wheat has gone bad. I have a trippel...

Amylo 300 - Belgian Beer such as Golden Strong

I know people are using Amylo 300 to get super high attenuation in Brut IPAs. Would this be a good strategy to help with attenuation for beers like Belgian Golden Strongs? Just curious if anyone has tried this.

eBIAB controller - Need for a plug?

I'm moving my brewery to my basement and building out a basic controller (Spa Panel + EZ Boil) for a 4500W element to boil 12 or so gallons in BIAB style. Since it's all going to be fixed and there is only the need for a single element, is there a need to use plugs in the control panel or could...

    BIAB mash in without stirring???

Does anyone mash in without stirring? I'm thinking about adding my full volume water at temp to my grain. This would make automation pretty of mash in pretty easy.

Are 2 march pumps better than 1

If I ran 2 march pumps in sequence, would I get more / double the pressure? I would like to do CIP for my conical, but apparently a single March 809 doesn't provide enough pressure. Would this help?

Cord Grip for 6/3 soow wire

Anybody know where to find a cord grip like this for 6/3 soow wire? I believe the wire itself is just under an inch in diameter.

220 Plug - Panel Mount vs Cord Mount

Thanks guys, BeardedBrews do you use the elements that simply have the male prongs on the element themselves?

220 Plug - Panel Mount vs Cord Mount

Looking through this forum and almost all home-grown and commercially available use a plug style outlet below. I have a small enclosure and was entertaining doing hanging plug for 2 reasons like the car charger shown below. Would there be any issues using a cord plug attachable female plug...

Will this work - Looking for opinions around boiling in conical

Thanks Guys, it's funny Bobby replied because I'm using his RIMS tube and I'm using a 5500W element in it I got from him too. IF it works I may buy a butterfly valve and put it between the conical and the RIMS tube so I could close, pull the rims tube and put the original dump valve on the...

Will this work - Looking for opinions around boiling in conical

I have a 14 gallon SS Brewtech Conical with a 1.5" tri clamp on the bottom. If I put my rims tube connected to the bottom and close up the in/out, could I boil in my conical this way? Seems like the only risk would be that there isn't enough natural turnover through the rims tube. One...

Anyone use EZBoil with 240V Rims Tube?

Thanks for the responses and sorry for not being super clear as to what I'm trying to attempt. I posted this in another thread and I got a bunch of feedback without much help so I tried to leave out the details this time to not derail the conversation. My goal is 1 vessel brewing for...

Anyone use EZBoil with 240V Rims Tube?

Thanks guys, I'm trying to keep the wort as close as possible to boiling without actually boiling it. I think the smallest possible cycle time is likely what I need without giving up heating speed through my rims.

Anyone use EZBoil with 240V Rims Tube?

Does this work pretty well? I'm assuming it's PID based, I want to control temps pretty accurately.

HELP - Trying to get near boiling temps out of a RIMS

Thanks augiedoggy, what exactly will insulating the rims tube do? I'll run the system and monitor the temps coming out of the tube itself to help debug. Good thoughts!

HELP - Trying to get near boiling temps out of a RIMS

Thanks FunkedOut, you are right. I'm actually not super worried about actually boiling the wort in the conical, I just want to get it as close as possible. The circulation from the pump will drive off the DMS and the temp will be for hop utilization. Just want to get it as high as I can...
