    Getting back into it.

So I have been stationed overseas for the last 6 1/2 years and haven’t brewed a single batch of beer. I am heading back to the states in a week and am wanting to get back into it. Was an all grain brewer before leaving and will be going that route again. I will most likely be going electric as...

    Brew Log

Curious as to how people keep track of their brews. I know there is a lot of software or internet sites to keep track of your recipes or brews but i am interested to see old fashioned pen and paper. Post pics if you got em cause everyone likes pics.

    Just a few questions

Forgive me if this questions has been asked before which I am sure it has and if this is the wrong place to ask it. I am in the Marine Corps and will be moving to Okinawa Japan in April. I want to stock up on hops and yeast before I go so I can bring them over there with me. I know the hops...

    What is this?

So yesterday I made 5 gallons of Bavarian Hefeweizen. Pitched wlp300 at about 73 degrees last night at about 8 o'clock. This is what it looks like today. This was taken about 15 mins ago. Kind of hard to see it there is a dark brown spot on top of the wort. What is that and should I be concerned.

    Wlp300 question.

I just kicked a keg of Bavarian Hefeweizen that I throughly enjoyed and want to make it again but this time I want to get more banana flavor out of the yeast. I fermented at a very steady 70 degrees for 14 days then kegged. Should I drop the fermentation temp a couple of degrees or raise it to...

Is this the way it's supposed to be?

So I ordered this http://www.midwestsupplies.com/fermenters-favorites-insulated-mash-lauter-tun.html last week and it came in yesterday. Put it together tonight and the false bottoms looks like a lot of the grains will get underneath it. The directions to put it together are very vague. Here's...

Not really sure if this is the right section for this but here we go. I am waiting for my new kettle and mash tun to arrive to venture into the all grain world for the first time. My plan is to make a 3-4 gallon batch of a Kolsch. Want something nice and refreshing for the remainder of the...

    Made me a mash paddle

Decided to make myself a mash paddle. Think I did a pretty good job. 33" long paddle is 4" wide and 15" long. Just figure out my hole pattern and how to round of the edges on the handle and shaft. Any advice on that?
