    Omega Lutra yeast?

Do this type of yeast require more headspace in the fermenter?

    Too long on stir plate?

OK. Thanks for the replies. Cold crash completed. Least of my issues now. Brew Commander was no go. Fixed a loose wire. Grain Mill was not cooperating. All good for now. Thanks again.

    Too long on stir plate?

I neglected to put my 3L starter in the fridge on friday. It was on the stir plate for 24 hrs. Now it's Monday and I get home and see it still spinning away. Room temp is about 65F. In the fridge now crashing. Does anyone think there would have been any significant loss sitting out that...

Yup I would imagine it could get ugly with wort so close to the top.

What is the maximum volume of wort anyone has used in a CF15? Can I get 16 gallons in without any issues? I am guessing head space might be a problem. Thanks

How many times to rack mead?

From what I have read so far it is beneficial to transfer a number of times for clarity. I did my first mead in April using a fermenter. I transferred to a keg about three weeks ago. I just did a pressure transfer into another keg. I was surprised when it looked fairly clear and no sediment...

Spike Conical- observations and best practices

I would like to share my experience with Spike after reading about others warranty concerns. I have had my CF15 since they started making them. After a few uses my 1.5" valve started leaking. I called and they replaced it. This week I received a replacement fermenter, lid, gasket and PRV...

Thanks for the images. Obviously mine has problems. Perhaps it gets metal fatigue after repeated use.

I do have a new gasket so will test with that. The old one does not look any different that the new. Thanks

Did all that except for keg lube. If you look at the photo the lip of the fermenter is not 90 degrees to main part. It is sort of tapered up. Hoping it is supposed to be that way. Another photo but still hard to see.
