Lager Fermentation Temp was Too High!!

I brewed a Doppelbock with a SG of 1.090 and fermented at 50F for two weeks using White Labs WLP833. The power went out to the chest freezer some point after the last time it was checked (about two weeks after start of fermentation) and the temps rose to 65F for about 5 days before I found out...

Re-Use Brew Kettle for Turkey Fryer?

Hi all, I have a 10gal SS brew kettle and with Thanksgiving coming up it would be nice to use it to fry a turkey without having to buy a new pot. Has anyone tried this and any issues? My concern is the SS ball valve and if it can handle 350F oil temps.

Illinois 15 Gal Stainless Kettle w/Stainless Steel Ball Valve and Copper Wort Chiller

15 gallon Mega Pot brew kettle for up to 10 gallon batches or a high gravity 5 gallon batch of home brew with no worries of a boil over. This is a mega pot that's wider so it has better boil off. Triclad bottom allows for even heat distribution which prevents scorching. 25ft copper wort chiller...

    WLP090-San Diego Super Yeast Performance

So I've been reading a lot of negative comments on here about the yeast strain, but does anyone have something positive? Looking for some hope! I made a 1.082 OG Stout the other day and pitched an English Ale yeast that has a max attenuation of 71%... did it for the flavor profile and it...

    Fast Brew: Grain to Glass

RESULTS: Brewed 10/11/2014 and poured from keg faucet on 10/18. Huge starter and fermented at 60F for 48hrs (lowest range of yeast temp) and slowly increased to 72F (highest yeast temp), then held it there until transferring to keg. Dry hopped primary on 10/15/2014, cold crashed on 10/17/2014...

    Fast Brew: Grain to Glass

I'll definitely be doing a cold crash, but may need to do so in the keg it will be served out of due to time constraints. Only 48hrs of dry hopping isn't ideal, but it's currently being stored at 72F which is the upper limit of the yeast used. Does it make sense to raise it higher to extract...

    Fast Brew: Grain to Glass

So I made a pale ale on 10/11 with an OG of 1.052. Pitched Wyeast 1056 and had fermentation started within 6hrs. Dry hopped 2.5oz of Citra on 10/15 right when the fermentation stopped but the beer is still really cloudy. Going to keg on 10/17 and drink on 10/18. Has anyone tried grain to...

    Sour Beer From Bottled Wheat?

Trying to make a fermented and carbed wheat sour. So I've already brewed a plain wheat ale and naturally carbed it in the bottle. There are two cases of this beer leftover and it's just boring so why not experiment? Is it possible to take the bottled beer and pour it in a secondary fermenter...
