Hi all,
I have a 10gal SS brew kettle and with Thanksgiving coming up it would be nice to use it to fry a turkey without having to buy a new pot. Has anyone tried this and any issues? My concern is the SS ball valve and if it can handle 350F oil temps.

Most valves have a working curve that relates temperature to pressure. Most can still handle 100+ psi at 400F.
PTFE seats are good to 620F per DuPont. So don't worry about your valve.

Do worry about the oil. It will take forever to get clean enough to brew again.
Oil is about the last thing you want in your beer.

I've used one before. Takes a bit of dish soap to get that grease out but eventually you'll get it...

To summerize, you can but do so at your own risk. You might want to replace anything non metal, the same as you would with a keg that held a soda or sour and now you put a clean beer in.
