    Need help

I got some wine sweetener and added small amounts to my pear cider and all I can say is a big thanks for the advice. Such a small bottle has turned the dry cider into a fine tasting pear cider that is going to go down well when its matured.

    Need help

I made a pear cider from a kit that I followed to the letter. Cider has now cleared but on testing its dry and not sweet but dull. It smells right but taste is wrong how can I make my next one less dry and slightly sweeter?. On a totally different subject is it possible to make a apple cider...

    First cider

Right I've primed my first pear cider with table sugar about four weeks ago and alls well. I have another pear kit to make and was thinking of priming with Demerara sugar too see how different the flavour would be. Has anyone done this that can give advice on priming amounts for 23l if it...

    First cider

Well my hydrometer reading is just in the ready to bottle band about 1008. So you do roughly 6x28 grams for bulk priming.

    First cider

I'm primely a beer maker but I like cider so I am trying a can kit pear cider. I've followed my regimented routine of warming the wort making the mix to 23l adding the brewing sugar and yeast. I'm using a bucket fermenter with a heat band and airlock. I bottle in 500ml oxi-bar brewing...

    Stupid question time

Woozy dude apple farms I never thought about that some of the local orchards do some apple juice they produce one 100% which is I little expensive for the amount is want but they do a 65-70% watered down one all without "crap" in it.

    Stupid question time

Woozy I was more thinking in concentrate juice the juice content is low and the additives are quite high. I know by brewing your are adding "crap" to get the end product. But that's something you control ie the yeast and sugar but the chemicals to me would be something non- controllable. I'm...

    Stupid question time

I'll get this first one out the way and then have a experiment in a second ferm to see if I get it right
  18. N

    Stupid question time

Would you be better juicing the apple yourself as 99% of all pure juices are concentrate and full of crap

    Stupid question time

Nothing says cider better than when you have to hold on to the carpet to stop you forgetting which way is up. So arsekicking recipe sounds just like my grandad used to make.
