My tap water is not so good. It does not make good beer. I have a TDS meter, and it reads water from the tap as 565 ppm. That is really quite terrible. The water is loaded with bicarbonates and sodium, etc... It's really nasty stuff.
To deal with this, I purchased a pretty cool counter-top RO...
Ordered a Stone IPA at a bar in town. The bartender poured it into my glass from a bottle, as hard as he could; almost foaming it onto the floor. As he was doing this...
Bartender: "Tumble, tumble, tumble, tumble. When it tumbles in the glass - that's when you know it's a good IPA."

Thanks, N_G. Then I'll be going with a valve of some sort; for the reasons you stated.
However, I found those valves at two of the vendors you mentioned through Google fu before I came here (didn't see the BW one until your post though) -- I'm a bit weary, because construction information was...
Thank you, Gnome. I'll be batch sparging, so is there anything to gain from the adjustability offered by the valve, as opposed to the simple on/off function of a clamp?
I purchased a 52 qt Coleman Xtreme, for a simple MT build. I don't want to spend money on a stainless or even a brass ball valve. I try to be cheap where I can get away with it.
I was going to build it pretty much like Denny's, but am having difficulty sourcing the inline nylon valve...
I didn't mean to abandon this thread. However, this will be my last post for "My first brew." I just want to close it out properly.
It turned out alright! Tasty brew for sure. My brother helped me float the keg. I did a bit of reading prior to this first attempt, paid attention to detail, and...
I posted this in the beginner forum with no dice... Maybe I can get some help here...
I tried to jam my racking cane into my cobra tap to fill some bottles Biermuncher style. There is no way that my racking cane will fit into the tap - no way. I have a 1/2" racking cane, iirc. Can you guys...

Okay, so a quick update...
Starting gravity for this extract brew is 1.045. I didn't take an OG reading because all directions were followed. As we know, the OG given with the kit is usually dead on - if the liquid volume is good to go (with extract kits at least). I took a gravity reading...
---I should have included the description of the type of beer I'm fermenting. A description was entered, but it only appears to be visible on YouTube and doesn't appear here; where it really needs to be. I will copy and paste some of it:
T-Can & Bearcat's Wheaten Beatdown: After everything I've...
