Doing my yeast bank. Have successfully frozen and reused my yeast a few times now so happy with my process.
Have been putting my glycerin in a mason jar and doing 20 minutes at 15psi with my water.
It's USP glycerin. This isn't necessary is it?

I have a note here from the home brewers meetup the other night that Sulfate would chemically bond with and precipitate oxygen..... Why i would write just sulfate I'm not entirely sure.
I was going to boil for 5 minutes, recirculte through my chiller and back in to sanitize, then pour into co2 purged keg from chiller while it's on my grain scale to measure out exactly the half keg.

I'm making my first attempt at doing some high gravity brewing. I made a double batch of my pale ale and threw it into the fermenter at an OG of 1.101 and 80 IBUs. Though mechanically my hop spider was too full so I need to.change the hopping process as I guarantee my utilization was much lower...
Lines are 6 feet but i flow control faucets. I mean a solid jostle, pick up and drop from a foot basically. The keg ranout out before i figured out why and the next one is pouring perfect on the same tap.
Somethings i guess we will never find out. lol
I appear to really suck at pouring my pale ale an i'm not sure why. I had to shift things around about a week ago in side the kegerator and after a hard knock i was getting foam. This did not really surpirse me all that much.
What is killing me is that a week later sitting next to my double IPA...
Brewing on a grain father and it doesn't really seem there is a way to check ph and gravity of the final runnings since the mashtun sits directly on the kettle.
I'm thinking once it's done draining the mash, I will have to relocate it onto something with a spigot. Any thoughts?
Yeah, gasket is always seated correctly. One in particular that's the worst, the flange is about an 1/8th of an inch thicker than the others so that doesn't help. It often unseats when you close the clamp and you have to redo it. It's just annoying cause literally an extra 1/2inch on the clamp...
I use the SS brew tech 7 gal Chronical BME. It's got 1.5" trip clamps on the rack and dump port. I'm finding that length of the Bolt for the nut is not long enough or just barely long enough to actually lock the clamp in place. Otherwise the nut comes off. Really bloody annoying.
