What Is The Length Of Time Till The Beer Expires In a Keg...Personally

Can anyone tell me how long can I store beer once it has been kegged and untapped. Personal experience would be great. I've never kegged only bottled. I've read that it will last for 3-6 months. But it would be nice to know from the people that actually brewed and stored their beers.

Can I Lower The Temp Straight To 35°F When I Lager

When you lager, do you need to bring the temperature -5°F each day? Or can you just bring the wort to 35°F right away? Thinking about lagering soon and its my first time. I've looked up different instructions on how to lager but would like to get expert opinion.

Adding Extra Water to 5 Gallon Batch

I'm sure that this topic has been discuss before. But can't find it. Here's the story from A to Z... I've brewed 4 times with extract recipe kit. I follow the instructions as what they have written. I have skipped the secondary fermentation, but this time I want to do a secondary...

    Cooling After Kegging Homebrew

So if I use the 5oz priming sugar for the 5 gallon batch to carb the beer. Is it alright to put CO2 into the keg to take the oxygen out? I'll be serving the beer with CO2. Sent from my iPhone using Home Brew

    Cooling After Kegging Homebrew

Is it necessary to cool the keg after placing the homebrew in the keg? It's my first time to keg my homebrew and I don't have space in the fridge. I can place it in the basement where the temp is around 75°F during the day and 70°F at night. I've seen many videos and read articles placing the...

What's The Expiration Date On Home Brew Wine Kits

Well I'm curious about how long the wine last after you brew it and put it in the bottle. I read that some wines only last for a year and the others last for 3 years. Seems like there isn't a definite answer.

What's The Expiration Date On Home Brew Wine Kits

I am thinking to make some wine in a couple weeks. I was wondering about the longevity of the wine kits. How long will they last in the bottle until it goes bad. I drink not to get drunk, I drink because of the flavor.

    Filtering A Home Brew

If I did use the filter to take the yeast out and any other impurities. Wouldn't that ruin the head retention? Isn't the purpose of the yeast floating around suppose to create a nice foam head? Sent from my iPhone using Home Brew

    Filtering A Home Brew

I have been wondering, what if I filter my home brew. Would it make the taste be different? What about the color? Will the color be lighter or the same? What about if I make a stout? Will that change the color drastically? Will the alcohol be less? Is it worth filtering a home brew?

    Apprenticeship Hard to Get?

I live in middle of America where the choices are Budweiser and more Budweiser. Not much of innovative breweries in the state nor people that think outside of the box. I'm planning to move out of the US and into Europe. So I'm hoping good things will happen. I don't like cleaning and I think...

    Apprenticeship Hard to Get?

I was wondering how hard will it be to get an apprenticeship from a brewing company. I would really love to learn the world of brewing and more. I am planning to go to school to brew but it feel like it isn't enough to educate me beyond brewing. Sent from my iPhone using Home Brew

Is Protein Rest Good For Every All-Grain Brewing?

I am wondering is it best to do a protein rest for every all-grain brew? I have read that certain grains do not need to do a protein rest and some grains definitely do. I love the foamy head retention and thats what I am aiming for.

    Low Heat Sparging

I always wanted to know, why do so many people sparge the grains in a separate container? Like a cooler. Wouldn't it be better to just lower the burner to the lowest flame and put the grains in the heated water? Will it ruin the flavor of the malt extract?

What is it like working in a brewery?

That $100,000 is only for the big timers. The macro breweries. That position is few and figure it to be hard to fill. A person would be the best of the best and if lucky enough to be that master brewery within that brewery. There's nothing wrong with that amount of money, but this is a being a...
