When you lager, do you need to bring the temperature -5°F each day? Or can you just bring the wort to 35°F right away?

Thinking about lagering soon and its my first time. I've looked up different instructions on how to lager but would like to get expert opinion.

If you can lower it more slowly, a couple degrees a day, it helps prevent chill haze.

Temperature can be reduced slowly or it can be reduced quickly. It depends on how long the brewer wants to wait before drinking the beer. Lowering temperature quickly to 30-35F reduces lagering time.

Good luck with the 1st Lager.

I have done it both ways, see little difference. All my lagers have been crystal clear, super clean flavors. Best luck, once you homebrew lager, you'll fall in love with them.
