    The easiest way I have found where a leak is the following; Connect the regulator to the tank, Open the tank and set the regulator low pressure side to 10-15 psi.     If you aren't adding sugar post fermentation the change in flavor is the yeast consuming the sugar in the wort. Beer is the same the wort pre-fermentation is sweet but after it's fermented a lot of the sugars are gone.

    As far as efficiency goes nothing beats a CFC either in tube or plate form. The leg that returns at the end of the coil will reduce your efficiency. If you ran your coil in one end and out the other that would work better.

    You could use a window AC unit to cool an insulated closet. Similar idea to a walk in cooler.

    I have one of these units. A 6500W rated one for a 4500W element. Yes you run both hot legs into/out of the unit.
