    Dumb mistake

That is a pretty cool principle to have around. Have you experienced the presence of infection there before?

    Will my IBUs stay??

Well, that is very helpful. I will be losing a little points there then. Hops seem more and more like tea to me as time goes on. The beer has a lot of different malts in there, so i think worse case scenario i'll have a decent beer with just a bit less hop kick.

    Dumb mistake

Was it at least washed? You will likely be just fine, but there still exists a chance. I have gotten away with it before. Luckily there is alcohol in there and hopefully not enough food for potential bacteria to feast adequately. You could crack one pint open early, just try not to let it...

    Brew Pot Size

Good topic. I have a 15 gallon pot I brew in (20$ off craigslist). I haven't even experienced a boil over before. How much does the flavor deviate from different hop usage and malt scorching when doing partial boils?

    Will my IBUs stay??

I have a concern I'd like to talk about. So a friend of mine was interested in brewing so I decided to do a batch with him. I brought some stuff to his condo, and decided to do a extract version for him. This batch is a Red Rye IPA, where the target IBU is suppose to be a mild 62.8. I...

    Flavoring Cider

Great thread. I've been experimenting a lot, but only with one type of store bought juice (not a particularly high quality type). I've personally found that the type of yeast you use makes a noticeably large difference in the cider. The sweetness (or apple flavor) or plainness has varied a lot...

    Thanksgiving!

As boring as it is, I am all about the mashed potatoes and gravy, really a good dense thanksgiving gravy is what I'm all about. No cranberry. I'm imagining a wheat beer with pumpkin, cinnamon, and cloves to spice it up. This talk of bourbon is certainly valid too.

    Bottling & filling

Uhhh, I can have 25 bottles filled and capped in an hour easy straight through the spigot. If your hurting to get more done and wanted makeshift , I suppose you could just use your pump to pressurize a half inch line plumbed to a valve*, that then uses three gated Ys (split one line to two...

    Newbie

An old co-worker/buddy of mine talked me into helping him with a brew, i thought that was totally great. Accomplished my first solo brew on Wednesday, a partial grain robust porter. I can't keep my eyes off that fermenter. Big up to all the authors on the forum, as well as the folks at The...
