    Kreezer project opinion....

I've been wanting to do a keeper for awhile now. Here was my dilemma.......I live in the Central Valley of CA and in the summer temps are routinely 100+. I want to keep my kreezer on my back patio under the roof but afraid a chest freezer would still work too hard to stay cool, even if in the...

    First bottle...first batch

Well, like most new home brewers I've discovered I'm impatient......lol. My bottles have been conditioning for a week and last night I took a "test" bottle and put it on the fridge. I had to try it today and I can say I am please. Good color, good flavor and good carbonation. I'm letting...

    Bottling day........

After being patient for 21 days it's finally bottling day. Didn't take too long and that spring loaded bottle filler is worth it's weight in gold. Now to wait another 3 weeks or so until it carved,up...................finished with 47 bottles.

    Ready to bottle..? Haze...?

I have an extra fridge I could probably use, so here's the question. After cold crashing it for a week when I bottle do I just transfer into the bottling bucket then bottle or do I have to let it come up In temperature before bottling?

    Ready to bottle..? Haze...?

This is my first batch and I did a gravity check 2 days ago and it was 1.016 and today it was 1.016. Started out a 1.050, so I'm going to say that fermentation is over. I'm going to say its ok to bottle but I did notice it's still a bit hazy with some suspended material. Should I bottle or...

    Fermentation check....first batch

An update on my first bay h. Brewed an IPA and it's been in the fermenter for 2 weeks. Decided to check the gravity today. It had an O.G. Of 1.050. Today is was 1.016. Looked good and smelled good. Even better it tasted great. I'll let it go a couple more days then check it again and...

Awesome.......I got the same kit from William,s for Christmas too (American IPA) and did my first patch too. I have the buckets instead of car boys though. Only thing I need is a propane burner.............

    Starting first batch ever.....

Never thought about that.......the lid was cracked slightly to let steam escape. I will have to wait and see on the flavor aspect. I didn't notice anything when I tried the wort sample from the hydrometer test but may be too, early. Next time I'll be using a propane burner instead of the...

    Starting first batch ever.....

Thanks all......well brew day went fine with only a couple of hiccups. 1-definitely need a propane burner as it took well, over an hours to boil 6gallons. 2-I had to leave the lid on the pot to get a good rolling boil. I know it's a no-no but I've got a 10 gallon pot and watched it like a...

    First batch done.....

Both buckets have spigots........it's a "siphon less" design so I can just rack to the bottling bucket with some tubing and a hose. Then bottle using the bottling wand.

    First batch done.....

Well got my first batch finished and yes I'm hooked. All in all it went well with only a few minor hiccups. My O.G. Reading was 1.050 and put 5 gallons in the fermenter. Now have to wait for the yeast to do their thing...... Thanks to the forums for all the info, support and...
