I haven't found the actual still itself. It's just been told that two guys ran one behind an old farmstead built in 1930. The local archeologists vouched for it along with many other stories. I was told there are probably still some whiskey buried out there. I guess they stashed it all up...
There used to be a couple guys who ran a distillery during the prohibition on my family's land. I found a buried stash of old bottles but the odd part is I'm finding the screw end of lightbulbs with them. Does anyone know if the bulbs are significant to the making of whiskey back then or what...
I have been bottling my last few batches using carbonating sugar. It works great but I dont like all the sediment that sits on the bottom. Is it possible to carbonate in the keg and then bottle it? Or will it flatten out over time? How do you get rid of stuff on the bottom?
I am starting a small scale brewery/grill. I plan on only doing 2 or 3 beers while still offering bud/coors etc. It will seat about 100 people. What size of system would be ideal. And what are some good companies that offer quality equipment for such systems. I looked into the sabco brew...
I do all grain. I just made a 5 gallon batch of stout. I just tried it and it seems a bit watered down. What would the proper process be to get a full 5 gallons out of a batch. I ended up with 4 gallons and just added 1 gallon of water to fermenter. I think thats my problem. Any...
I am looking at buying a trailer. A motorcycle enclosed trailor. I want to put about 5 taps on the outside and maybe a grill on the other. Does anyone have something like this, pics of one, website. I'm just looking for ideas right now. Kinda ultimate tailgate or party on the go for home...
I just bottled for the first time. I have always kegged. How long does it need to sit in the bottles for it to carbonate. How long should I wait to crack the first one open?
I made a 5 gallon batch of beer. I want to do bottle a gallon for my sister in law using fresh raspberries, frozen raspberries, or raspberry extract. Which is better and how much do I use for one gallon?
I agree. Probably dirty beer line or sanitation problem. There was a local bar and grill that got caught filling their empty beer bottles with tap beer to stretch the dollar. It could be something like that. Back in the old west they used to pour any left over beer in the mugs into a barrel...
I have brewed alone, and I have brewed with a friend. My problem is I want to start a brewing company (small level) so I like to keep my recipes a secret. But fact of the matter is if I start a company then I will need someone who knows recipes in case of emergency that I would need to be...
