When I boil out my wort gets a slimey snotty substance that I have to filter out. The beer turns out fine but what is it and how to I avoid it.

It is most likely break material. Don't worry about it, happens to all of us and will settle into the trub.

Yep, completely normal. Save yourself the effort, you don't need to filter it out.
