Hey folks, i just found some hops in my freezer and was just wondering if this comb would make a great IPA. I found 1 oz of Chinook, 2 oz's of hallertauer, and 2 oz of Cascade. Would this be a great combination of a really good IPA. Any suggestions as to what grains I can use and hop schedule:tank:. Also do hops lose flavour or get freezer burn. Truth be told I don't recall when I got these hops. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Even though Hallertauer has low AAs I would use it as your bittering hop since the flavor profile doesn't fit well for an IPA. Then I would do a late addition (10 minutes) Chinook to get your IBUs filled out. Chinook is a very well rounded more subtle (flavor/aroma) hop which will pop more in late addition. Cascade will play well with Chinook in a dry hop. Maris Otter is delicious in pale ales and IPAs. Throw in a little crystal 60 or Munich and a little carapils or wheat malt for mouthfeel/head retention and you should have a pretty nice beer.
