Hey there everyone, I’ve got the grist weighed out for a simple Intl Red Lager session and a large portion is going to be CaraRed. Since I’m a red beer fanatic this seemed like a natural experiment away from RedX, CaraAroma, a Melanoiden, etc, though I’m wondering how others have found CaraRed’s flavor additions to their recipes.
Weyermann claims it can work as a simple light crystal malt and honestly I wasn’t super impressed by the flavor of chewing on a handful of the stuff, though maybe it’s one of those malts that just needs mashing to express its intended flavors, I dunno.
What does the collective hive mind think about this stuff?
