Hey guys, last night when I went outside to look on the brews, I sadly discovered I had omitted my last flavor hop addition. How I done it, beats me, but I’ll not let this one get by me again. lol

I’ve read some this morning about making hop teas. This particular batch is already blowing krausen though the tube, so I’m not really keen on fooling with it right now, but would making a small hop tea after the krausen falls do anything?

Would you guys even fool with it? I could always use it to dry hop with I guess. Recipe is for a SA Summer Ale. I brewed this up yesterday and made about 6 gallons so there is not much room for anything else in the primary for now.
Thanks,

I would taste the beer before you do anything. You may want to consider dry hopping as well.

In Greg Noonan's book he descibes how a hop tea is a good way to "dry hop" lighter beers. Mainly lagers but a "Summer Ale" would be included I'm sure. He prefered the aroma a flavor of the hop tea instead of dry hopping. He reserved that for larger beers.

I agree, let it ferment out and try it. If it's lacking then by all means dry "dry hopping" with a hop tea!
