So we just moved and my wife decided she didn't want the wine rack in the new house. The rack was holding 12 bottles of wine ranging from 9-11 years old. I couldn't throw out all that wine so I put them in my beer closet and opened the first bottle last night. It was a 2006 milcampos tempranillo (red wine) and it has a wonderful bret aroma and flavor dominated by barnyard / horse blanket funk. I know this is a flaw in the wine but man is it good! I really want to try this in some beer but will 9 year old bret work without help? Can I just pour some of the wine into secondary and call it good or do I need to make a starter and wake these guys up?
