Is there a good substitute for a lager yeast. Looking to sub out
White Labs American Pilsner Lager (WLP840) yeast. Just not sure if I can get temps for fermentation down enough to use lager yeast. Thanks

You can try White's Cry Havoc which is a lager strain that can ferment at ale temps. Good luck and let us know how it turns out!

Cheers!

Either a Kolsch or California Lager strain will work (the first an ale strain that's very lager like, especially if fermented colder, and the second is a lager yeast that ferments warmer), and in this case I'd go with the Kolsch strain. If you can ferment either of them steady in the very low 60's you'll be good to go.
