I have a N English Brown going. Everything was going great first 5 days (1.052->1.030) @ 68°F in water bath, but cold front came through and had to turn on the heater. Unfortunately, the house heater didnt work and the house temp dropped into the low 50's; the bath got into the high 50's. WLP005 doesnt like the 50's and dropped. Ive swirled and broken the cake up a bit, and brought the temp back to 66°F. Its still going, but SLOWLY (3 pts in 4 days; now to 1.027). Hydro samples are sweet, but awesome. Initial fast ferm test said it will drop to 1.008. Im trying to hit the fast ferm test mark, but wonder if this accidental crash will hinder the yeasts ability.

Question: let it ride, or pitch more yeast in high kruesen?

Ultimately it's your decision. I have personally found that it's hard to get a fermentation restarted and finish the same as it would have if it wouldn't have stalled. It usually finishes high.
