Phoenix area newbie

Just moved out to AZ from socal and came into this hobby out of boredom. But im excited to get the hang of it. I'm on my second batch right now. First was a cheap 1gal blonde and I just made a 5gal brown nut ale tonight. excited to see how that comes out. the test sample was a little sweet but tasted alright. my brother is learning with me. we're also looking to keg this batch and make a mini fridge kegerator. If you guys have any advice or are from the area and know of any meets I can go to... and of course any advice is welcome.
