I am by no means a specialist in beer, so don't get any ideas about asking my opinion on anything yet. I'm new to the site, so hello to everyone.

I've brewed 4 batches, all extract so far, and have succeeded in getting banished from the kitchen for boilovers and resultant messes. I think there must have been a sloppy homebrewer in my house before I bought it, cause I know the boilover wasn't THAT bad. Anyway, it allowed me to get a used keg-converted boil kettle and propane cooker to use outside.

Trying to do a lager (Oktoberfest or Vienna) for my next batch as cool weather doesn't come often in Texas (Fort Worth).

Got to love it: "But if I can't use the kitchen, I'll have to buy ..."

When you want to start kegging, offer to buy her a new fridge and grab the old one!
