New to All Grain

Quick question. I am new to all grain and i am wondering what the mash ratio is grain/water. Any help would be appreciated.

To get started, aside from reading Palmer's book, I would highly recommend downloading the free trial of one of the brewing programs. I use BeerSmith2, which takes some effort to master, but you don't need to master it for it to make your first AG batches less nerve-wracking. It calculates your water volumes for you.

The general rule is 1.25 quarts per lb of grain, but again these sources will give you a better answer.

I use 1.6-1.75 qt./lb., sometimes as high as 2.

It's a matter of preference. 1.25 is common, but I prefer 1.5 qts/lb. Start at 1.25 and try different ones.
