I see that CP boils his extract recipes w/ 1.5 gal water then racks to fermenter on top of cold water to get his 5 gal batch. If I was going to try one of these recipes, would it be better to boil the entire required water w/the DME or should I just do what CP does?
 
Either way will work. However with a full boil you need a way to chill that much wort down to pitching temps.
