Potentially dumb question here but one that I need to ask. I am going to add some cocoa nibs to my chocolate oatmeal stout in a few days. Trick is I have a 3 gallon batch and they'll be added to a 6.5 gallon fermenter. The fermenter is the primary by the way. I don't think the batch would fit in a 3 gallon fermenter for a secondary.

If I just drop them in, I'm a little worried about oxidizing the beer. I'll soak the nibs in vodka for a day and then add them. Should I just not worry and pour them in??

I know I know. RDWHAHB.

I should add that the beer fills about 2/3rds of the fermenter.
