Getting back into it after years - good first recipe to have at end of summer?

Hey all. First post.

Years ago, I used to be big into mead making and beer brewing (started with extract kits and moved on up to full grain). Unfortunately, some health concerns arose and I couldn't really drink for a long time. Dark times, indeed. However, I am looking to get back into the "hobby" and make myself a good five gallon batch. Given that the end of summer is coming up (which I consider to be Labor Day), what are some good recipes for end of summer that I can ease myself back into this with?

This is a tried & true recipe from Dr. Bray Denard than can be ready in about a month. Many people, (myself included), have made it with huge success, repeatable results & it's damn tasty.
