Another of my pet peeves (probably somewhat military-centric) - the guy who refers to every gun as "a weapon." My guns aren't weapons (except in the case where you break my door down in the middle of the night and try to steal something or hurt my family...then my handgun will become a weapon...and I'm a good shot). Not even the one I shoot at the AF qual course is a weapon. It will live out its useful, pathetic life as a target gun. If I were holding a weapon, I would shoot people with it. I fly a weapon. I shoot a gun. Just call it a gun, you tool.

Since I got out of the Navy, I am not sure what they switched to for personal rifles, but the MP-5's have been replaced. I know we use the newer MK-48 for in tandem to "clear the lane", we usually send out at least 2 in a crew. We began using it in 2002 I think to replace the bulky old M60E4/Mk 43 Mod 0. I think the 48 does about 700 rpm 7.62 x 51 NATO. Makes a hell of a racket too.

Sorry for venting outside the <rant> tag, but I had to give one of these, :rockin: to Yuri for that.

I hear you. But what's hard to come by is the ammo. You ever haul around 95 lb bullets (155mm), or, in the case of the 8", 196 lb bullets?cnbudz said:Wit an arsenal like that at your disposal you don't need a gun of your own

I shot a couple of rounds through a friends 30-30 one day. He tried to sell it to me but I had to tell him I didn't like it because the ejected brass kept hitting me in the head and/or went down the back of my shirt...I'm left-handed/left-eyed.DeathBrewer said:...30-30...
I had a lever action 30-30 for awhile that I loved. Shooting it reminded me of old western movies, but it didn't have the range need in eastern Montana. Had to get a .270. Anyone deer hunt on the prairie? It is a whole different ball game compared to hunting in the woods. I have know idea how you all can sit in a tree all day.homebrewer_99 said:I shot a couple of rounds through a friends 30-30 one day. Any AR-15 owners out there. (besides Copperhed )
I pieced it together from parts. The main body parts are Rock River Arms(the best AR makers in my opinion). I got the lower receiver at http://www.eaglefirearms.net/TxBrew said:Who did you buy your AR from?

SuperiorBrew said:I turned in my FFL a few years ago, so its back to retail when I feel the need. I still own the business but am a absentee owner and the employees were not keeping good enough records. Now we just sell archery and fishing.
