Another of my pet peeves (probably somewhat military-centric) - the guy who refers to every gun as "a weapon." My guns aren't weapons (except in the case where you break my door down in the middle of the night and try to steal something or hurt my family...then my handgun will become a weapon...and I'm a good shot). Not even the one I shoot at the AF qual course is a weapon. It will live out its useful, pathetic life as a target gun. If I were holding a weapon, I would shoot people with it. I fly a weapon. I shoot a gun. Just call it a gun, you tool.
</rant>

Abso-freakin'-lutely. My guns are tools. Weapons are targeted at other humans. Mine are never used like that. I live in the country. I NEED most of my guns to maintain my home against nature's infiltrations. Sure, I have a couple of hunting rifles, but they're to harvest food for my family. Again, a tool. When the Feds start with the gun control thing, they're trying to solve a city problem (ineffectively) and painting us all with the same brush. I can't fathom licensing my table saw any more than my guns. It REALLY pisses me off.

Sorry for venting outside the <rant> tag, but I had to give one of these, :rockin: to Yuri for that.

Nice lil toy Bierman, fully auto I presume? Have you ever seen just how fast a mag will go through it before the barrel turns red hot? Awesome.
Since I got out of the Navy, I am not sure what they switched to for personal rifles, but the MP-5's have been replaced. I know we use the newer MK-48 for in tandem to "clear the lane", we usually send out at least 2 in a crew. We began using it in 2002 I think to replace the bulky old M60E4/Mk 43 Mod 0. I think the 48 does about 700 rpm 7.62 x 51 NATO. Makes a hell of a racket too.

Yeah, that one is Full auto. Sweet subgun. I've fired quite a few subguns, but you can't beat the HK's.

Most of our team uses a combo of MP-5's, UMP-40's, and M-4's.

I usually just carry my sidearm since I operate as a medic, and not as the point guy.

Word brother. . . that's why I'm an endowment member of the NRA.

In Canada, we already have gun control. I have to register every firearm, even pellet guns if they exceed a certain muzzle velocity. I paid a fee for this. This is on top of the license I had to buy to own firearms. Our current government promised to revoke the law because it's ineffective and extremely expensive, but occasional gun crime in our major centers have polarized mass opinion. They can't follow through without appearing 'soft on crime'. No matter that the program has had no impact on crime, the current establishment needs votes, now. It plays really well to the majority.

I've got several firearms. I'm mainly a hunter, but shoot a little just for the fun of it.

I've got a 30-.06 Woodsman that means the most to me. My grandpa killed his last deer with it and I've killed all of mine with it. As well as an Elk.

My dream, which I think will come together this year, is to bring all my hobbies together. I'd love to have my friends over for a meal that I'm completely responsible for. Homebrew, fresh veggies and game or fish that I have harvested myself.

I'm not going overboard and grind my own flour or anything, but I want every dish to be centered on something I've had the main part of creating.

here's my little C&R collection

DSCN1067.jpg

yugo mauser, SKS, AK, mosin nagant m44, and recently added a m91/30 to the collection

:fro:

Just two, a Mossberg 885 for turkey and deer and a .17 Savage for groundhogs. Got 3 yesterday. :D The guy who farms the field next to my house was pretty happy about that.

Nothing fancy, Remington 270 Classic and a 10 shot autoload .22 for varmint around the property.

One less Groundhog in the world as of this past weekend.

I usually only use my rifles for gathering food. The Groundhogs are an exception as they can literally mow down a season's worth of vegetables in a single afternoon (greedy bastids) so I take the necessary precautions. And no I aint lettin 'em free. And they are too gross to eat, imho.

Neither is really good for home defense, so I have been mulling the idea of a shotgun over.

Kind of funny FireBrewer, I just posted....which Hanover? By Allentown, Wilkes-Barre, or MD?

MD, west of York. Lots of groundhogs around here...well, there used to be. :D ;)

I spent 7 years active Army. After that I worked for 5 years as a small arms repairer/inspector at the rifle ranges at Ft. Dix, NJ. I used to fire almost every day.

Since then I've been a Integrated Logistics Specialist Manager, Equipment Specialist, and a Logistics Assistance Rep (LAR), for the Army.

I've fired: M16A1/A2/A3, M4 Carbine, M79 Grenade Launcher, M203 Grenade Launcher, M1911 .45 cal, M9 9mm Pistol, LAW Rocket, Winchester 12g Riot Shotgun, .38 cal pistol, M60 Machine Gun, M240 MG, M249 MG, M2 .50 cal MG, MK19 Grenade MG, Race Starter Pistol, M67 90mm Recoiless Rifle (like a Bazooka), M101 105mm Howizer, M102 105mm Howitzer, M119A1 105mm Howitzer, M1 75mm Pack Howitzer, M109A1 155mm Howitzer, M109A6 Paladin (my current job), M107mm 175mm Howitzer, M110 203mm (8") Howitzer, M114 155mm Howitzer, M198 155mm Howitzer, Mine Clearing Line Charge (5,2" Rocket with 1840 lbs of C-4 explosives for breaching mine fields), and a Volcano (mine dispenser, 640 mines at one sitting). Funny thing is, I know absolutely nothing about civilian weaponry.

I've also worked on, but not fired: Apache and Kiowa helicopter armaments,
M1 Abrams Tank, M2 Bradley Fighting Vehicle.

I've also trained with Special Forces at Ft. Bragg (there are a few foreign weapons I have touched/played with working with these guys) and supported the 82nd Airborne Division as well as deployed to Kosovo (twice).

At one time I used to have 11,800 9mm rounds in my office (don't ask).

Last Wednesday I celebrated 33 years of Federal Government Service. I'll be eligible to retire in 2 years 1 month. :rockin:

Other than that, I don't own a gun at this time. I used to, want to, just haven't gotten around to it. :D

Ive got a 96 Winchester Defender 1300 7 shot Pistol grip and a 1939 Kar98k with all matched serials. That is one helluva good hunting rifle.

Mossberg 500A 12Ga
Savage Arms .22
1953 Hungarian Mosin Nagant 7.62x54R

Next on List
1911 .45

every year in november we go out to the desert to blow stuff up, set up a range for shooting, light fireworks and have huge bonfires. we also have great cookouts and stay up drinking jawbone koolaid while playing dominoes, but our firearms last year consisted of:

2 - 12 guage shotguns (1 pistol grip)
3 - .22LR (i spent most of my time pinging targets with the single shot)
1 - .38 special
1 - 30-30
1 - 30-06
1 - .223 (that sumbitch is fun!)
1 - .45 snubnose (great for blowing up pumpkins leftover from halloween :D)

My friend also brought a 9mm beretta that i was going to buy, but it never worked out so...no, i don't own anything at this point.

I hear you. But what's hard to come by is the ammo. You ever haul around 95 lb bullets (155mm), or, in the case of the 8", 196 lb bullets? :D

the heaviest ammo I ever carry are 12ga. slugs.... Though the brass jacket .50cal sabot slugs for my 12ga are pretty badass...

I shot a couple of rounds through a friends 30-30 one day. He tried to sell it to me but I had to tell him I didn't like it because the ejected brass kept hitting me in the head and/or went down the back of my shirt...I'm left-handed/left-eyed.
I had a lever action 30-30 for awhile that I loved. Shooting it reminded me of old western movies, but it didn't have the range need in eastern Montana. Had to get a .270. Anyone deer hunt on the prairie? It is a whole different ball game compared to hunting in the woods. I have know idea how you all can sit in a tree all day.

Who did you buy your AR from?
I pieced it together from parts. The main body parts are Rock River Arms(the best AR makers in my opinion). I got the lower receiver at http://www.eaglefirearms.net/

The stock is made by ACE Ltd. I ordered it and the scope mount from http://www.rbprecision.com

I can’t remember right now the name of the company where I got the upper receiver and bull barrel. The link is on my other computer. One thing about the bull barrel. I kind of regret getting it. Although it is very accurate, it is way too heavy and not worth the cost in my opinion. But that is the great thing about AR’s. I can just buy a different upper and slap it on. Anyone want a SS bull barrel Rock River upper?

1 - 20 guage Smith and Wesson
1 - double barrel 410 Smith and Wesson
1 - double barrel 410 Remington
1 - single shot 410 Remington
2 - 12 guage browning
1 - Double barrel 10 guage Remington ( coon gun ;) )
2 - .30-06 browning
1 - .30-06 remington
2 - .22 remington
1 - .22 browning
1 - .44 Ruger
1 - 9mm Pierto Beretta ( my carry piece )
1 - .22-250 Remington
1 - 243 Browning BAR
1 - Ruger 44 Mag Rem Carbine
1 - Papovka M59
1 - Zastava LKP-66

Just two here. WWII Kar98k 6mm, and a 12ga. Winchester Defender pistol grip. Love em both. Nothing more fun that watching the rednecks laugh while I beat them at skeet with a 32" pump action pistol grip.

Well, I'm back to digging up old threads again...

Other than hunting arms (.30-06, 20 guage, .22LR, etc.), I picked up my first hand-gun today. Received my concealed carry permit in PA and headed right to the "Gun-Barn" (despite the name, it's a legit firearms dealer in the sticks of PA). Picked up this Taurus .38 Special, 5 Cartridge Cylinder, 2" Barrel, Totally Concealed Hammer. Has a neat safety you lock with a "key" as well...

Sorry for the bad pic, it's from my cell:

No deer this year, but I did drop my first pig.
I love the .17. That little thing is a tack driver. It does a number on squirrels and prairie dogs.

Unless there's any sort of a crosswind ;) Then it's nice to be pushing at least 55 grains at over 4000fps

Sup...You Rock.:rockin:
I have an FFL, Special order only, But I have the same problem...Sometime some just don't sell...Wink Wink.

I just started shooting a little over 2 years ago. The only gun I own is a 10/22 for plinking, but I like shooting the practical armory that my boyfriend and his father possess. In the next year I'll probably get a tiny revolver like a 642 for CC.

I turned in my FFL a few years ago, so its back to retail when I feel the need. I still own the business but am a absentee owner and the employees were not keeping good enough records. Now we just sell archery and fishing.

I would like to get some Crossbow bolts shipped to me. PM me if you can supply them with screw in broadhead and target tips to suit a Barnett Veloci-speed R class

I have a USP .45 Match. It is my pride, my joy, and no matter what I will never.....ever.....ever part ways with it. For those who know what it is, you know what I mean. I use it for target shooting only, as it is a joke to try to carry.

I'll see if they have them. Are they the 15" with the flat nock ends?

Here's a few of my favorites to shoot in my collection.
Mauser, AK-47, 9mm Makarov, S&W .357sig, Ruger 9mm, .22 revolver

I can't be sure, as I was given the bow without bolts. I measured 15 1/5 inches from the piece that releases the strin, to the emd of the front stock.
