E-Kettle alternatives

I have some friends who are interested in making their boil kettle an e-kettle only... I'm still happily brewing on gas and have no plans to switch so I don't have much advice for them.

The closest option I can find is High Gravity Brews EKC here:

It doesn't say too much about it, but appears to just be an on/off switch, a big old rheostat, and cables/enclosure.

If that works and is the best option, so be it... But I am curious what other alternatives there are out there, DIY or otherwise. Without pump control it shouldn't be that complicated of a circuit.

I just did a couple of pot with something like the Still Dragon but use my own parts

does a great job, brewing electric works better for me then gas
