Hey guys this is my first recipe i have made by myself on beersmith so any and all tips or hints will be appreciated and considered

Peanut Butter Stout
Type:Extract Size:5 Gallons
Yeast:Wyeast 1318 London Ale lll
Estimated OG: 1.068
IBU: 27
Estimated alcohol %: 5.9

6# Amber Dry Extract
1# Amber Liquid Extract
.5# Chocolate Malt
.5# Black Malt
.5# Crystal 80L
1#lactose
1 oz EKG (60 min)
1 oz EKG (30 min)
2 jars of PB2 in secondary

I think it would be more beneficial to mix the PB2 in hot/boiling water to a tomato soup consistency and then add to secondary.

I would add some flaked oats to give it better head retention. I would add 1 lb.

Good thinking - did a choco-pb porter last year, (two jars of PB2, some lactose, some cocoa powder and nibs) and didn't have much head retention at all - oils somewhere might have knocked it back, so oats might be a good boost - will have to remember that. The PB2 worked well enough - more for mouthfeel than much PB flavor, but think I added it in the boil. Next time, could see a 2ndary addition.

I made a chocolate PB stout this past fall and it seemed to have more "peanut" flavor than peanut butter. Perhaps I had too little chocolate flavor. It was a hit with some people but too odd for others.

The recipe posted look pretty good - similar to mine without the hershey's chocolate addition.
