cantaloupe mead?

I had some cantaloupe yesterday and thought the flavor would be a great match for mead. I have a lot of mead sitting in secondary so I could spare a gallon or two for an experiment. Does anyone have any experience with cantaloupe or any ideas to try?

People always get grossed out when I tell them about my idea for cantaloupe pie. I say go for it, but don't label it as such. Wait for them to sample before you let them know what's in it.

I'd toss at least 3 lbs per gallon, maybe a bit more, cantaloupe flavor can be easily lost...
