Not sure that this is in the right subforum but here we go...

Has anyone ever had any issues with the BeerSmith Recipes website? I was on Modern Times brewing's website last night on my cell phone (LG G4, Firefox & Chrome browsers) and followed a link to a homebrew recipe for their beer which took me to the beersmithrecipes site (Im assuming is officially part of beersmith). Almost instantly the website reloaded to some spam page and it opened 3 new tabs with spam. Im relatively protective about what I put on my phone and what I use it for and I ran a virus scan afterwards and it was all clean. Just kinda weird. Conversely, when I visit the site on my desktop all is well.

Has anyone else ever had any issues with the mobile site?

Never had that problem with Beersmith's site. Sounds like what porn site's used to do...a few still do. Might be some difference with the cell phone app? Because saving a link or screen dump/shot shouldn't be too hard?

Just went and tried again for confirmation. This is exactly what popped up last night. It went to the recipe page and after about 2 seconds, the URL changed and loaded this...

Oh I closed that tab faster almost faster than I could blink. I "borrowed" my buddies iPhone for a second to see if maybe it was just mine, but got the same thing on his as well.

Idk...I still think it's a scam to get your info off the phone or gain control of it in the background!...

Ya, I did run a virus/spyware/malware scan on the phone through my desktop scanner and it came up null so I should be fine (I think).

You might have to click on it to get to a page where you can say no?...I hate those.

I just tired it on my iPhone. no problems. I use the google browser as default. if your iPhone is synced with a mac/pc make sure the computer has no virus. I would try another browser just for kicks.
